Skaran, my calculations with the exception of power matched yours
Why did you use 450 as the rating for the Escort sized PDS?
The total Point Def. Power Cost, SM: P VM p. 114, formula is written as (Rating) x (Attacks) which I take to mean the rating, available from 2 to 8, times the number of attacks, which can be from 1 to 6. Per the formula a non-escort PDS system would have a power cost of (5) x (6) = 30. Using the PDS on an escort the formula is (5) x (6) x (10) = (30) x (10) = 300
Unfortunately, I don't appear to have any material that has a escort size vessel to verify my understanding.

On another matter if I'm putting a point defense system on a ship like a destroyer escort it says to multiply all numbers by 10 and designed as a 6 attack, so if I'm interpreting this correctly a rating 5 system would have a mass of 45x10=450 tons occupying 450 kiloliters and would cost 150 million. Power required would then be 450x6=2700. Power seems a high to me even a rating 2 system would require power of 300*6=1800 if I have this right. Of course this system can fire as needed but I cannot see small escorts being able to generate the power for this and all their other systems.
