I think I've found a... more effective... inducement....

Terry: we want that revision now (or else I'' complete the following)

The Ballad of Terry K. Amthor
Tune: Summer Nights

Terry Amthor--smarter than cheese!
Terry Amthor--cuter than fleas!
Writes a book barely so big
Wears a hat, never a wig
Terry A writing a play
On, uh-oh, those sardine pies!

Well-a, well-a, well-a uh!
Tell me more, tell me more:
Is his fire made of snow?
Tell me more, tell me more:
Does his left nostril glow?

Terry Amthor--tinfoil on head!
Terry Amthor--tickling Judge Dredd!
Eats his beans, tooting a tune!
Watch his pets learning to moon!
Terry A trying to stay
On, uh-oh, those slippery flies!

Well-a, well-a, well-a uh!
Tell me more, tell me more:
Does his cheese smell of socks?
Tell me more, tell me more:
Is his bed made of rocks?

Etcetera.... ;)

I'm having terrible writer's block on the Eidolon adventures.

My solution for writers block has been to outline what I "want" to say, then, bum on seat, sit down and crash or crash through. It's worked well enough in the past, and I'm at the stage where writers block is a dim and distant memory.

Ow!  :)  And actually, my gentle editor apparently reads this thread and has given me gentle guidance (D'Amthor! get on it!). Time to cut a few adventure ideas for later and get this thing done. After all, I did write like 30 more pages of new material in this module and I want it out there!

There has been talk of a 'World Guide' of all the continents. I would be happy to supervise it. The harcover is coming very soon, as we get the very diligent errata integrated. Now the hardcopy will be error free  ;)

Oh. My. God. I don't even know where to begin with this.
Now write me one to the tune of 'I vow to thee my country, and when I am done weeping, I will write.

Weep, weep, my friend!

I Vow to thee, O Terry

I vow to thee, O Terry, it's time to sit and write,
A supplement that's perfect, except the bits so shite
That Andraax turns a purple that glows within the dark,
And makes his eyeballs water and makes his fingers spark;
So Terry take your pencil, and scribe unholy tomes
About the wanton habits of halfling garden gnomes.

I heard Kulthea calling, yahooing like a yob,
Across the breakfast table, while cavaliers and snobs
Pretend they cannot hear her, with papers rustling loud
Because they are so stuck up, because they are so proud,
They wear a dirty raincoat, they wear a mangy hat
Insulting Stephen Colbert, the Pope and ceiling cat.

And Andraax cries in corners, and swears he did not know
That little playful puppies like Larry, Curly, Moe,
That little pretty kittens are wont to deck the halls
With mistletoe and tinsel, deflated soccer balls,
So Terry, sit and scribble, so long into the night
'Cause Nicholas is waiting for Terry A. to write.

Going like mad on Emer II and Eidolon at the same time (well, back-and-forth). I set myself Feb 28 for both of them, drafts to Nicholas. And also getting the print edition of Emer III out.

But I did buy myself a little present. I find that building things can stimulate the brain. (I was a little too old for LEGO, so now it fascinates me).

That's one cute LEGO robot.

Back to work: Eidolon, Emer II and Wuliris (I need a new name for this!), multi-tasking. Lots happening with the Lankan Empire of course, with some fun details about the mysterious holy books.

I'm expanding all the realm cultural information; and major adventures.

Sigh.  You seem determined to make we repurchase those books Terry  >:(

Powers of Light and Dark was my last purchase...no, I mean it...ARGHHHHHHH.

I know exactly haw an addict feels, you drug peddling fiend.

Rant mode off.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

I was looking at the numbers of the recent Shadow World books. Player's Guide is 1, Cloudlords is 4 and Emer III is 5. I assume one of the other two is Xa'ar but what is the other number?

That's a good question. Xa-ar is 1003. I guess there wasn't a 1002, or that is reserved for something, maybe the planned World GM Guide (which I am just the editor of).

That makes sense. Any news on the GM Guide? I haven't heard anything about it in ages.

Also, are the other supplements going to be restatted when RMU is released? I was considering buying some hardcopies, but if they're going to be updated in the not-too-distant future I'd rather wait.

I found my old text files of T'revor's Tale (my character's adventures in eastern Middle-earth), and some old Space Master fiction as well. Here's a particularly fun vision of T'revor's... (as roleplayed by me and Pete; as I jotted it down...)

I sit in the chair and let my mind wander.  I set aside the Trident so that it would not interfere with the objectivity of the vision, and am immediately blinded by a purple reflection from four pools of water. From the swirling water in one pool, a fish pops up and looks at an old man in deep blue robes sitting in a purple chair.  The Fish speaks: "My Lord Virdiak, who do you summon from the well today?"
"You, Dendien; that is why you are here."
"Why? I have been asleep for so long."
"To finish your chore, for you have made the top of my staff; it seeks completion..."
"Where shall I go?"
"From my home to the wells of the Uttersouth, to the isle farthest south.  You shall find that which you made long ago.  Unite the parts, and bring them to my lovely home in Kai'ish.  You have seen how you will die"
"My Lord, that fate is what binds me to you; nothing more."
"Yet that is enough."  In his eyes, there is a flat blackness (like death; the absence of life); there is also a worn-out quality to him, tired and complacent.  A glimmer from a ring on his finger: bright, blinding, flickering purple.
A break, and I see Uncle Dendien (no longer a fish) standing before three Elves, all kneeling and bound.  He says: "You have betrayed your mistress; my master's love, in order to serve the Sleeping Spirits that do not move, except to break the ground we walk on.  By this you shall pay.
The first Elf, Silvan, says "How, my Shepherd?"
"You shall pay as I have: You shall know your end."
The second Elf speaks: "I shall sooner die."
"In a sense, you shall."

I suppose that if Emer IV included the lost island of Tarania (but that tech will be out in the Wuliris module) and the Loremaster islands, that would make you more interested?

As my novel series is a bit stalled in my brain, I was thinking about releasing some fiction less ambitious (and less expensive) featuring other SW characters, a kind of 'Tales of the Shadow World' with a series of vignettes, like the the chapter intros but longer. Some would be complete stories, some just 'captures' of events past and present, spanning all of the Shadow World. Thoughts? Who would you like to see featured?

Oh and I'm working on the errata for E3; the covers are approved to send to the printer (yes, perfect bound AND casebook/hardback! Yay!). And as someone suggested, Emer IV might also include the Loremaster secret home, and the lost island of Tarania. Hmm, that could spice things up. Then on to Thuul I think.
