Okay,

So far I suck in getting a play test of RM:U off the ground because I suck in selling this thing to one my regulars. I'll need some RM veterans who can actually help me with the selling points tonight.

My description to new players is usually

"Its like a university degree in role playing"

"More detail is easily possible in play"

"With all the extra non combat skills its WAY easier to get into interesting non combat encounters and situations"

I have 8 people pissing themselves they are so excited to play once the arms law is out lol

RM lets you be immersed in it, to the point where you can smell the forest your character is walking through. On the downside it means you also smell your party member who just got cooked to medium well by the dragon, and yeah there are a lot of details you have to get right to get that deeply immersed.

Some RPGs are so 2 dimensional that it's basically just playing Talisman without the board. RM is towards the other end of that scale.

With my SMP players, I gave them a 13 page, wet your appetite, section of Character Law.  Their response has been nothing worse than, "Cool.  I like this."  All said they were going to sign up and dload the beta.  I won't know until this weekend.  They have also been looking through the RM2 and RMSS/FRP printouts I have in ring binders.  However, I don't think they want to try RM yet as the SM campaign keeps us pretty busy for two 4-hour sessions a week.

However, now that they have learned how to stop an Enigman Planet Swallower from swallowing a planet, things may get a bit freer with trying RM.

Will let you know you more if it dawns on me.

Just out of curiosity what is their objection to trying it out?  If we have that information we might be able to give you more specific recommendations.
