Kind of depends on your level of optimism about doomsday I guess...

Level 1: "I'm going to die."
Level 10: "You're going to die, too."
Level 50: "We're all going to die."

I'm shooting for something a teeeeeny weeny more elaborate than that XD

As a matter of fact one of my players gave me an awesome idea yesterday for the "signature" spell list of the Doomsday Prophet.

A little update with a twist …

I have decided/been convinced, that a book with both a setting and professions derived from the whole Wasteland concept might be a good idea. I had a book planned with a more artic/Nordic feel to it and 6/7 professions defined for such a theme, but I'm going to shelve that one for a while and attempt the whole Wasteland project instead.

I'm moving Wasteland Mage and the Doomsday Prophet, along with some material like a new bolt, critical type and a wee other stuff to this new project. If the Chicken Companion is an indication of anything, it should take me around 4-5 months to complete this "Wasteland Companion" and it should result in somewhere around the 8-12 professions mark with the corresponding 6 spell lists per profession, plus Wasteland-related setting ideas, items, critical types and some other source material.

As soon as ICE decides what if anything they want to do with my current and now again 100% content-wise finished book I'll make a decision on how to make available, be it through TGC, ICE or else a freebie or some other channel, the Chicken Companion.

You wrote a RoCo about raising poultry?! Awesome!
I can see that: "The Chicken Companion, or A Complete and Detailed Treaty About the Importance and Methods About Raising Poultry in Fantasy Games", by Lord Garth.
The world was then consumed by darkness, and mankind was devoured alive and cast into hell, led by a jubilant 紗羽. She rejoiced in being able to continue serving the gods, thus perpetuating her travels across worlds to destroy them. She looked at her doll and, remembering their promises, told her: "You see, my dear, we succeeded! We've become legends! We've become villains! We've become witches!" She then laughed with a joyful, childlike laughter, just as she kept doing for all of eternity.

Yeah, poultry is serious business.

In case you were not joking (or to clarify matters if need be) as I stated in the thread some time ago, I call it the Chicken Companion as a way to referr to my players who I always call out to be chickens for running away from dangerous situations.  :D

After a few posts in this thread I thought it'd be a good idea to tell you guys that the reason why nothing's come out in terms of PDFs or otherwise available stuff regarding my "book" is that I'm going to wait and see what's coming out with RMU and, possibly, adapt my "book" to fit the new Rolemaster. I see no point in releasing/making available anything RM2/RMC at this stage when Nicholas et al are putting so much work into a new dawn for Rolemaster.

Thus, both the Wasteland book and the "Chicken Companion" will hopefully see the light of the day, but if that happens, it will be as RMU products.

IMHO, this is the correct and sensible thing to do.

Cheers.

After a long writing hiatus I started writing a wee bit a few weeks back. Now, as I'm sure anyone who reads understands I do this as a hobby and don't pretend I'm a professional in this matter (I earn my living in quite a different way). I'm shooting to complete two fan theme based source books/companions in 2013 for RMU, tentatively named "Wasteland Companion" and "Fires of Heaven and Hell Companion". If anyone wonders why I am doing this, again, I do it just because, I had a blast, albeit it was a lot of work, last year, and I'm looking to occupy some of my spare time again with this. I had quite positive feedback from my effort last time around, and though I think RMU comes at precisely the right time and with a lot of good ideas, it saddened me, just a bit, that I didn't get around to sharing it outside a few people. Perhaps this time I'll be luckier, and if not I'll have an extra 30 or so professions (currently I have 35, but I'll doubtlessly trim that number a bit) to add to my own RMU campaigns for years to come.

I'll move future "updates" to a new thread in the RMU forums, but if anyone is interested in the Large and Super Large critical tables for magical elements, to be used in RM2/RMC, feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to send the PDF with them ASAP.

I'm looking for a semi spell user that specializes in bows (and rangers are just sad) and I read this amazing thread and about all the hard work that has gone into it - but where can I find it?
Why procrastinate today when you can do it tomorrow?

Disappointing for certain as RM2/RMC is my preferred game and I don't know how easily RUM will convert back.... I haven't had time to really look at what is developing of it. I would Love to see/jave the options you have talked about over the first year of your project.

If they expect to rally all the 'camps' to RMU I would be utterly and completely shocked if there were not very clear conversion rules for all the RM versions.  So I'm sure it's just a matter waiting for it in BETA or publication.

It's all in my hard drive I'm afraid , and as far as I'm aware off I'm the only GM who uses it (I did pass a few copies to a few posters on these forums last year to get some opinions from them). Sorry about that ;)

As for my current efforts, I have been a little lazy and despite some advances I'm not really done with my two RMU books yet. Both should be "done" by late Fall 2013, but that's about it as I keep jumping from one book to the other and I really don't feel too much of a hurry to finish up at the moment. And every time I sit down to write a new idea comes up and I get more and more derailed (happened last time and eventually I did focus though).  I won't be starting a new campaign until March 2014 (current one will last until Feb 2014) and thus won't be changing systems until then, which is why I am certain I will finish up my work by Christmas at the very latest. Ah deadlines ...

Sorry about that. I've been an avid RM2 player for two decades so I'm with you there. However I am all in for changing a few things in the way RMU is approaching them, which is why I decided what I did, despite having a finished book back to cover.
