One thing that would be nice to see at some point, if possible (time being limited and I don't know whether it would be legally possible), would be a rewrite of those modules integrating them better with the canon Shadow World mythos, or, failing that, a supplement that did the same.

The four scanned products that are being released this week (i.e. those listed above) are owned by Aurigas. Subject to rewrites being approved by Terry, it would be possible to either rework them or in some other fashion bring them into consistency with the canon.

Best wishes,
Nicholas

That's good to know. Now, any volunteers?

Quellbourne is a nice module, and already fits fairly well. Kingdom of the Desert Jewel is removed enough from the other canon stuff that a fix would probably be comparatively easy. The biggest problems would probably be Demons, which, although pretty decent, just doesn't fit very well currently, and Gethaena which would probably be better if it didn't blow a sodding great hole in the scenery at the end.

I certainly don't care if any module fits into SW "cannon."  The amount of material released over the years is so small I have never seen a SW setting that resembles another anyway.  GM's have been forced to develop their own cannon.

That said Gethaena is EXACTLY the sort of modules ICE needs to release.  Big, with enough detail to get a GM going and enough material to host dozens of immediate adventures.  The entire module can be insterted under any continent anywhere (I have seen it ran in a modern earth/space master adventure that brilliant).  Rehashing the old versus new stuff, I vote new stuff.

If a GM really wants to integrate Demons of the Burning Night or any other module into his SW setting, it can be done by the GM with limited work.

New stuff is definitely better, but if anyone has already done any of the work, might be good to see it tidied up and published.

I confess to being biased based on the fact I already own all that stuff.

This is something I have never understood.  Why re-issue the third edition of the SWMA when the fourth edition exists?

This is something I have never understood.  Why re-issue the third edition of the SWMA when the fourth edition exists?

The Third Edition is for those who like their Shadow World material with RM2/Classic stats. The Fourth Edition is for those who like their Shadow World material with RMSS/FRP stats. Trying to put the two together in the same atlas would make for an even huger book and tie up even more layout resources. Doing RM2/Classic and RMSS/FRP for regional modules such as Xa-ar and Emer III is not such a big deal as it can be done during the building process rather than painful shoehorning after the fact.

Best wishes,
Nicholas

Not sure "Kingdom of the Desert Jewel" is Canon any more.  IIRC, it's part of the Alliance now.  :'(

Once upon a time it was part of the Canon...

Hence the need to update it.

Is there much information on the Alliance? There seems to be a couple of pages in Powers, and bit and pieces elsewhere - often in the timeline - but that's a group that seems to be crying out for their own sourcebook.
