Varable DP Cost for higher level spells
« on: October 09, 2009, 10:13:14 PM »
I was just looking through my RMSS book and realized that on page 40 there are different costs for buying higher level open and closed lists. But I have been using a spreed sheet with fixed costs from page 64.
How may of you use a fixed cost or the variable cost listed from page 40?

Variable cost in the rare instances when it comes up.

We also use the variable cost but it does come up rarely.  Moreso if you use talents to get out of norm spell lists.

Also on page 64 there is the cross marker on the spell lists noting that the DP cost might change so while the page is an easy quick reference, it isn't correct.

I never noticed the JD's spreadsheet didn't take it into account.  I have had it go into effect with one character, a fighter who got lists via a talent, and tracked it manually.  He is an older character and we were using a differet spreadsheet that is a bit more complicated but does have some advantages.
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.    Buddha
