Eog casting penalty multiplier = 0

Eog has casting penalty multiplier = 0
So, an armor made of Eog does not increase PP to cast spells?

Mmm... loking at the previous HARP version of Eog (CP=1.5), I think that CP=0 is an error.

Maybe, but the description of Eog says it gives a penalty to the spell casting maneuver in certain cases.

or maybe not. Could be a change for this version.  :o

The table on pg53 also gives the CP of 0 for Eog full sets of armor.

If this is an error, it is a consistent one.  ???

Looking at the various charts I would say that Eog does indeed have a 0 CP multiplier.  The cost compared to the similar Elven steel seems to indicate that.  Eog is almost 1/3 again as expensive as Elven steel with very similar bonuses and worse maneuverability.  So I think the 0 is intentional.

Now that is for the properly alloyed Eog.  The white and black pure stuff actually causes a penalty per piece worn.  This may work well for anti-magic manacles, shackles, and gags.  Causing casting penalties even beyond the normal for these items.  But the astounding cost of these would make them only useful for the most extreme circumstances.

I suspect the Laen full plate CP may be a typo however we will probably have to wait for Thom or Nicholas to give us the official answer.

Eog is correct.

The Laen full plate should have 6 CP. Error not caught in original Martial Law and got past us all in the enhancement process.

Actually the maneuver bonuses from workmanship are being added to the material maneuver bonuses in the table. For UF penalties, you should be doubling those bonuses when setting the maximum and minimum UF penalties. In the original Martial Law, the laen row was empty. The proofreaders caught this and made it consistent with the rest of the table. Unfortunately the table and the instructions for how it is constructed aren't quite in synch *still*. i shall have a think about what is the minimal change needed to fix this.

Obviously no HARP GMs who have handed out top-of-the-range armor realised there was an issue - or maybe we don't hand out top of the range armor - I know I have not when GMing HARP nor did the other HARP GM in our group.

Thanks, so I did miss something  ;)

My Harp game never got to a point where the characters could have an armor worth 1 000 000 silver coins  :o (That's nearly 3500 pounds of silver)

Well maybe one day.
