RM attack tables with HARP

Would I have to make any changes if I simply replace the HARP combat rules with RM rules? I intend to replace HARP armor with AT and use OB-DB=attack roll.
Would I have to make adjustments to anything else?

You would have to reduce the DB of the HARP characters which they have due to armor of course. In general your changes should work. OTOH I'd suggest to take a look at HARPer's Bazaar #11 which introduces a very RM-like combat system - and that is guaranteed to work with HARP.

Yeah, other than removing the armor DB from HARP I can't imagine you'd run into too many problems.  I say this 'cause I've thought about doing it myself and have looked at it.  Never tried it, though.  The only real difference I can really see is that I think HARP characters tend to have more hit points than Rolemaster characters.

Yeah, I have seen HB 11... but I don't want the condensed tables.

Hi,

I did it. Also with HARP SF.

Issues:
- Figuring out the right AT and DB
- Bolt and ball attacks. I used Fire Bolt and Fire Ball from RM as the generic attack table, just substituting the criticals by elemental types.

Bolt spells -- there are 5 sized in HARP, there are 5 bolt attack tables in RM -- they correspond..  ;D Ball attacks are a bit more problematical, but for the I would use Fireball, and size caps on the attacks (much like the Martial Arts tables and the natural attack tables from arms law is based on size).

Very clever. And very powerful. I introduced damage caps on the fire bolt table but your solution is much more elgant. 1 idea point!

hehe.. where do you think the idea of damage caps came from in the first place..   ;D
