Maybe some of the experienced Shadow World players have encountered effects like this before. I am wondering if Power Hues could be linked to certain realm of magic in Bladestorm scenarios. The old rules are quite elusive and merely offer a random D6 result to make a spell user "attuned" to the dominant sky color. I find that rather unsatisfactory.
In a way, Power Hues remind me of Flow Storms, whereas magic can have totally random effects. I am wondering if a D6 could determine the dominant color corresponding to the known colors for magic. For example, a "3" gives +1D10 Power Points to spell users of the realm of essence whereas users of channeling suffer a -1D10 penalty.
1-2 = Bonus for Channeling / Penalty for Mentalism
3-4 = Bonus for Essence / Penalty for Channeling
5-6 = Bonus for Mentalism / Penalty for Essence
Since we have "good" and "evil" spells, we could even spread the color spectrum to include the good and evil variants.
1 = Bonus for evil Channeling / Penalty for good Mentalism
2 = Bonus for good Channeling / Penalty for evil Mentalism
etc.
Given a die roll of "1" would of course mean that if no evil spells are used on either side of the table, no bonus is granted under a given sky color....then again, that does sound about right, does it?
Has anybody ever incorporated a concept like that in a personal campaign?
