My laptop seems to have died. I suspect the Mother Board or the screen, which means it might be better to get a refurbished or used laptop than fix this one. The effects on my productivity are potentially terrifying, since I do about 75% of my work on the laptop these days. If anyone hears of any good deals on a laptop, let me know. The product release schedule will certainly thank you.
As a frame of reference, computers I could probably use, if slowly, start on Overstock.com at around $400.
Just PM me if you hear of anything. The company is pretty poor right now, since we've just started. :)
I'll post the effects of this one the second product when I get a better feel of the implications.

Well, if you search for it you can almost always find a $750 off coupon for a Dell computer that runs $2000 or more (just under that I believe, $1900 or something like that). Sounds like that's a bit beyond your budget even at the discount however.

Yeah. Thanks, though.

I often recomend HP laptops as they seam to be a better price for what you get.
If you problem is the the motherboard I would replace it if it is the screen I would buy a new laptop as replacing screens is expencive. In fact I recomend everyone to get the 3 year warrenty just in case the screen fails. In most cases to replace the screen cost more than the warrenty. Circuit City has an Acer web id # AS3618AWLCI for $449 that is about the cheepist I have seen.

Something else you might try is getting a small bis loan to get a computer or small bis financing from who ever you buy it from.
