Title: Rolemaster Errata Hunt
Post by: Marc R on January 01, 2011, 04:36:09 PM
OK, the errata is scattered all over the place, and needs to be brought into one place where it can be kept up to date and handily referenced. . .

I am aware of where a lot of the errata is, but lets just pretend I'm totally blind and can't find any of it other than what's posted in the two FAQ/Errata boards found here:

RMX/RMC (FAQ/Errata) (http://www.ironcrown.com/ICEforums/index.php?board=122.0)

or

RMSS/FRP (FAQ/Errata) (http://www.ironcrown.com/ICEforums/index.php?board=123.0)

If you know of any Rolemaster Errata located on other websites, or scattered around the ICE site, or posted somewhere on this Forum, post up a link here, and I'll get to work gathering it all together into the proper two boards listed above.

Thanks, added that one to the RMC side, the first official errata for RMC CT apparently.

I just started reading through the Channeling Companion.  I believe there were three mistakes that stood out to me years ago when I checked it over, but I might catch more with a thorough reading.  Good news is I recall most the mistakes crept in after I sent the final draft in (i.e. either ICE or the printer messed it up), bad news is it really irks me when I'm not the one that made the mistake. :)

Gonna tell, or are they a secret?  ;)

Ob1knorrb authorized mining his errata

OK, my eyes and brain hurt. . I'll finish later.

I saw some dupes as I went.

Anyone wants to point out any dupes, or a reasonable tie that places a given errata into a specific book, go ahead and tell me, and I'll fix.

How many threads on errata do we need?

I'm just copying them over from their scattered sources into places where people can find them. Over the years I've noticed a number of people quote one of these from their varied sources to clear up a point. . . sometimes with snarky comments. . .I recall "Before posting a thread like this, why don't you bother to take a couple minutes to check the errata first <url>?" being one gem of polite discourse. . . .well, now you don't need to know the 50 ICE related sites well enough to know where all the errata is hidden, it's all in one place.

If they were labled by specific book, I followed the format I found already in place of one thread per book. . .for the non specific book marked stuff I just copied it over into a giant thread. . .I'm not feeling to eager at the moment to sift them out to book by book entries after all that copying. . .but if anyone wants to say "Errata post X goes to book Y" I will get it moved.

The question is akin to walking up to someone who just pulled 100 unmarked boxes out of the basement, pulled all the dusty books out of them, and put them on shelves, looking around, and going "How many books do we need?". . .I'm fairly thick skinned, I suspect anyone else would bite your head off.  ;D

Nobody is forcing anyone to read anything, like any other thread on the board, feel free to just ignore it, click the "Mark as read" if it doesn't appeal to you. . .the people it does appeal to will read them. . .as usual YMMV.

Well, I see it as 20 for sale signs in a front yard.  A bunch of clutter, even if I don't take the time to read them all, they are eye sores.  One should do.

Yet I certainly can learn to ignore them.  Thanks for the explanation.

Well, I'm done with Ob1s vast store of errata. . .so you should see less threads pop up for a while.

Thanks Brent!

RM2 Rolemaster Companion I: 3.16. Spell Coordination (both the old, p16, and the new, p25, editions).
In the table, spell #20 is Complex Contingency and #25 is Complex Spell Store whereas, in the text, it's the reverse. The correct one is probably the text.

See all my recent threads in the RMSS/FRP section with "issues" in the topic name. Most of the problems have never had errata, but you'll get the problems.

Weapon Law:Firearms

Before I waffle on, has anyone got errata already sorted and available for the Large and Super Large Crit tables for this publication.

There's a lot of mistakes; check it out.

Those errata boards seem like they are buried really deep. Child boards of child boards, they don't show up in the board list. Are they linked from somewhere? I didn't even see them.

I hadn't realized that by being 3rd tier down they were not visible.  I have moved them up a level and they now show on the main page.  Thanks for mentioning it....
