Rolemaster James Bond Campaign Question
« on: September 21, 2024, 04:33:50 PM »
Has anyone tried to run a James Bond, or Mission: Impossible type campaign using Rolemaster as the base?

I think I can do such a campaign with my Rolemaster-at-home group.  Since the group wants to start in Furyondy, and Iuz has his Shadowclaw operatives operating in Furyondy; there is a nice set up for a James Bond or Mission: Impossible type campaign with my players.  We will be using RMSS/FRP.  Although I'm waiting for an answer about Furyondy's equivalent to MI:6 or the CIA on Canonfire's forums (the forums about everything Greyhawk).

I've watched all the James Bond films that I could.  I also watched the Mission: Impossible films. So I think I could devise a spy vs. spy campaign.  Hopefully one where the players actually take out Iuz in the climax.  What do you think?

Sounds cool. Two rival factions would work well. Id look at a game like Blades in the Dark for some ideas around how to run a mission such as a heist. It gives you a nice template and the flashback mechanic it uses would be totally awesome in a spy genre.

I remember that one, I'll see if it's available on ebay.  A good copy, at least.

Blades in the Dark?  Hmm.  Is that a fantasy game or an adventure?

It's a fantasy game. It has spawned a whole subgenre because of its mechanics (just like Apocalypse World did, in a way).

Yeah, I looked it up on Drivethru.  Very tempting to get.
