Map questions
« on: August 05, 2008, 12:44:24 PM »
1) Does anyone have a copy of the Lethys map from back when the Lethys project was online?

2) This one's directed at Terry:  Do you have a copy of the Rhakhaan map, perhaps a draft, that doesn't have the place names on it?

You can find the zip of Lethys here:  http://www.ashenoq.com/all_of_lethys.zip

it contains the DOC describing all the map locations and the numbered map of Lethys.

Update: I have uploaded the same file to the Vault. Once a moderator looks it over it should hopefully be available.

Good job Lomli, and really useful.
Have you done this?
Have you got anything more ?

Thank you very much, and get one idea point!  ;)

I did not do this. I collected it off the web a very long time ago. The Martin Joabsson while a student in Sweden. (from the best I can tell)  I have collected a lot of stuff off the web relating to shadow world over the years and this was one of the things I found. The numbered map is huge if you get it printed out like I did. It is definitely banner size.

Hi guys, I am Martin that did the Lethys stuff. The site went down when I got working instead of studying and I didnt really care about make it work again. But as our campaign in Shadow World is again running I found interest in putting it back up again.

I used google sites, so that it wont be lost again.

http://sites.google.com/site/jaimanlethys

All pages are back up again, but some internal links will fail because I am working on it. But at least its up again!

I always though it might be interesting if this could be made into an actual supplement, possibly with expansion.

Thank you for support, its easier to work with the stuff when knowing that people like it.

I hope we can do something more with it, lets see what we can do.

It's certainly something you can contact the Guild Companion Publications about - you never know what might happen!  :)

I never mentioned it before, because the original author wasn't around, but now they're back, maybe they'd be interested...

City books are certainly something I'd like to see for Shadow World (also things like the old Fortresses series from the Game Which Must Not Be Named).

I second that idea. City books or source books on areas, especially smallish ones are good. Not so much whole countries.

Not only the Fortresses from the Not-RM game that shall remain Nameless, but lots of early ( and not so early ) books in that game had complete city descriptions.

While I'm answering in that thread.
I really liked the Lethys pages when I saw them, and I have ( shamelessly ) printed them, they are hidden somewhere in my pile of unnofficial SW source material.

Was an archive of the mailing list ever kept?

I might have a good bunch of it stored somewhere...

The problem is that I'm not sure the CD/DVD/Tape/Magneto-Optical-Disk/Floppy where I stored it will be readable.

I can eventually dig it out and make a huge archive...( It's several megabytes of text huge ).
But I wouldn't expect much from my archives... not sure the above mentionned storage mean will be readable.

I dug up the Lethys project from a disk I did not know was working at all. Found some old material there too, its fun to read really old stuff.

The Lethys project site at https://sites.google.com/site/jaimanlethys/ is now working as expected! I have been linking for some time and now it should be useable again. Enjoy!

I am also working on expansion for the Lethys project, in any form!

Nice maps and info. How big is the city map actually? I mean physically.

The original map was drawn on 4 A3 sheets which means the total is equal to one A1 sheet! I dont really know where the original is now.
