My desk area, (or just to the right) Note the Eidolon TOC, the nice glimmering lamps, the bamboo.. so I have no excuses...

LOL! Yeah I am a slob, you should see the stains on my RM2 Spell Law and Char/Cham Law, which I cut and spiral bound. I have them off to the left as reference and usually a dinner plate gets on them...

Sadly (or maybe happily?) prints go from the printer to you, so my greasy fingers never touch them. Unless you want a copy of Powers...

Would you be surprised to learn that this was one of my inspirations for Court of Ardor back in the day? (yes I was a huge MTV fan)

Of course, no one should be surprised that this was also a favorite of mine...

Wuliris/NE Jaiman update:

I am plugging along, and just FYI, as I may have suggested, this will be much more of a general sourcebook with some adventures, and less of a big quest book like Xa-ar was. Comments/opinions?

I prefer sourcebooks  - however one quest now and then is nice change. Ratio 1/4 or something...

Just got my Loremaster Legacy and SW players guide premium edition. I must admit that PG is pretty and worth the few extra bucks.

I would assume "PG" means Players Guide rather than Parental Guidance in this case.  ;)

I did wonder if they meant the Premium edition, but I couldn't get that into PG.

I agree with Tommi here, it doesn't always have to be a big quest-style adventure. Sourcebooks are fine.

Rewatching Desolation of Smaug in prep for Five Armies, and thinking how dark and grim these Hobbit movies have been. Still, looking at Laketown, and thinking that early Sel-kai could have looked very much like that.

The Hobbit films are much darker than the book; still LoTR was darker, so it looks like they decided to move to that tone rather than keep the much lighter tone of the children's book.

The Battle of the Five Armies (the battle itself) is stupendous. It was only a few pages, but it's most of the film.

I was also surprised at the take off of the new D&D. A friend of mine who keeps a close watch on such things was impressed at how many physical books were sold after giving away the PDF for free.
But I also believe they had to do something a little different after 4th edition and the surge of Pathfinder and other 3rd edition offshoots.

All in all I think it is very healthy for the hobby and games (board/card/other) in general.

Gee, maybe we should try to finish that OGL Shadow World Atlas after all...

As someone who likes and is playing* D&D 5E, please don't. First, it is not OGL/D20, not at all, so they won't be compatable and second, while I am sure there are D20/OGL hold-outs (like there are RM2 hold-outs), I don't think this would generate any serious response by the D20 community. Of course, I could be wrong about that, but I don't think so. And, a totally unrelated reason, I think it would be down-right criminal to sully SW with the OGL - but that is totally unrelated, of course. (OK, to be perfectly fair, it might generate new traffic to SW, and perhaps even RM, just not sure how much.)

*This after being sure I would not play/like D&D again because of 3rd and 4th editions, especially 4th edition. Of course, as an RM lover, there are still things about it that I would like to change and would do differently in any 5E game I ran...
