Title: How to make a foe unconscious / koed ?
Post by: Syssiah on December 21, 2015, 04:34:40 PM
Hi there

Today during the game, we womdered if their was a skill or a weapon that could render an foe uniconscious ?
Basically we used the club attack table but a 10 CK critical inflicted with a 100 result would only kill one man, not make him KOed.

So how to do that ?

the subdual crit table has some knockout results. locks and holds is good too.

we use club table, -20 OB. hits are normal. if crit achieved target makes rr versus ranks in subduing or half ranks in weapon w/ -St mod to rr. target uses ranks in body dev as level of resistance + Cox3. additonally RR mods due to AT or St is up to Gm.

I am sure there was a rule somewhere that said a combatant could restrict themselves to only A criticals to emulate using the flat of the blade. That would allow you to fight and not kill your opponent. I  can remember using it back in the 80's so it would have been in either the RM2 Arms Law or in Character & Campaign Law I think.

I use the subdual crit table for intentional KO attempts at -20 OB. Hits are the same and unless crit is severe then a KO instead of death occurs.
