Title: Hybrid PP Development.
Post by: Hra2342 on January 18, 2013, 09:57:26 PM
Can anyone tell me where in the books can I find the PP development rules for hybrid casters?

I Assume that hybrids must take the worst PP development progression of the two realms according to his race.

Is it correct? Again, where in the books are the rullings for this?

Thank you very much.

Always been a problem for me keeping track of what version of RM someone is using.

I bought several Role Master books at a Game Store in Munich once only later to find out they were from different editions and slightly different rules. Made it hard to use them LOL.

Apparently having the progression differ for different races is an optional rule in RMFRP, and hybrid professions aren't in the core anyway. I wasn't able to find a rule about using this optional rule for the non-core professions anywhere.

In RMSS, you use the lower of the progressions for the two realms for your race. So I would follow that precedent.

Thanks for the replies. yeah, the different versions of rolemaster are an issue, but the system being that good beats that complication for me.

Bottom of table 1.1 (the racial stat mod/progression table) "Hybrid PP progressions are calculated by taking the lesser of the Hybrid spell user's two realms' progressions"
You should also note that skills that have "realm of power" as the stat bonus uses the average of the two realm stats bonus'.

I have heard people using the average of the PP progressions for the two realms. Of course if you're using talent points, they can buy bonuses to their PP progression.
