That being one of the reasons I prefer the "actions take 1/2 as much activity, character acts 100% in the round" version. . .it makes the character actually move faster, rather than longer.

And when you combine it with an initiative modifier based upon % of activity* it makes even more sense to do it the LM way.

* Example: An action that takes 80% action, has a -8 initiative modifier. I like this as it reflects the fact that some actions are more complicated or just take longer to perform. I would also go so far as to say that some weapons take more activity to use than others: flail vs. shortsword comes to mind.

I try to keep weapon speeds etc out of the equation.  Action resolution in RM with 3 or 4 players can slow down enough, without having action an action resolution system for the action resolution system.

(Narf) agreed. . .detail is nice, but combat can definitely crawl if you push it too far.
