Armor and spell casting
« on: July 13, 2009, 04:08:02 PM »
Let's say you own a magical suit of armor, and the description reads:  "Scale Mail.  Protects as full plate +10, encumbers as a leather jerkin."

For a spell caster, would this armor be considered scale mail, plate mail, or a leather jerkin?

For casting purposes, it is what it is -- the phrases "protects as" and "encumbers as" only mean that there is something else you can look at to get the proper numbers.

Thus, it is scale mail for the purposes of casting.
