Sounds almost like spell mastery. . . .

(Or you could clone them and grow them in a jar with Midwifery Ways)

Hmm, is there a way to age the clone to maturity faster?

Thier is a series of Sci-Fi books that have the same general idea, of people downloading thier persanality into a sleve. Unfortantly I have the book in a box and cannot remember the authors name except the he came from England or Scotland and his first and third books were picke up by a movie company.

I would second the advice above about making a new spell list or at looking at the Psion lists in the SUC or Psion rules in SM:P. I think thier are some of the abilities you would like to have and if not maybe give you some guidance for power creation.

IIRC the clones created with Simulacra (Construct Comp) are full grown when they exit their Vat.
I suppose a magician might, he admitted, but a gentleman never could.

:o   This whole thread makes my hair curl.  This is a lot more evil than the Thalan discussion going on over on the SW board.  You get major corruption points for doing stuff like this.

At max corruption the GM usually takes your character sheet, saying "This one is mine now, you make a new one".
The character is completely under the influence of the unlife.

I'd often wondered on that issue actually, since reading that section of the Channeling Companion. (By this logic you'd think you'd also warp out if you hit 100 points of purity too.)

Always struck me as somewhat arbitrary that you become and npc only if you go off the road to the dark side edge.

Then again, the character you're describing would, with me running, or in a game run by those I FtF with. . .

You'd either end up ruling the world, or dead. . .since you'd have no peace until one or the other happened. (Then again, how many PCs are not harried from one end of the earth to the other in some way or another.) This is very provocative activity, and once you got this going you'd definitely find it almost impossible not to draw attention. (Essentially, the only way to do so would involve hiding, and doing very little 90% of the time, which PCs can never seem to do.).

Actualy, with Chip I am trying to stay "neutral" between the gods. Of course it dose not work, but it is part of Chips Persona hopping if he only offinds each a "little" bit then thay wont take direct notice. Flawed thought of coursse but part of this character. :D

What will happen, (If chip is not killed) is about 15th lvl he will be too influential to not make enimies of almost everyone. Even if they dont really understand what their looking for.(Just beacuse something is wrong dose not mean "Soul Swapper" jumps to mind. ;D) Luckily....

Anyway at 15th or so chip will go into hidding for 20 or 30 years before returning. Then only rumors and stories are left.

My GM will probaly alow this semi-retierment if my precaussions make sense. And if my whole party dose this the GM just has to figgure the time laps on the rulling class. 8)

Tom-Do you see Familiar as mostly a mind spell or physical?  The description I have refers to "attuning" to a small creature. I think that's where our interpitation of being able to use it to "attune" to a body I inhabit to increase manuverability comse from. :-\
thanks

It does specifiy a non intelligent animal. . .your body is a being. . .and the SL definition of animal excludes anything that qualfies as a being.

Is it still a "intelegent being" when the soul is traped in my body?
Without the whole soul in residence the body has only ability to breath and keep heart going.
No soul=no intelegence? :P

if I'm not mistaken, you're in residence in the other body. As in, you, as the possessing spirit, are casting it on the body you are inhabiting.

If I'm mistaken, and you're casting it on a body with the soul vacated. . .then it's neither an animal nor a being. . . .it's a meat puppet. All "m" spells would fail, it has no mind at all, you can't charm, command or familiar it.. . . The logic is akin to:

"If I kill a cow, cut a steak off and cast lifekeeping or preservation on the steak to keep it alive, can I make the steak a familiar?"

Beyond that, the 10% caster's weight limit would pose problems.

Using Familiar Law comp2 so mass req are different.

Had'nt thought about MY soul getting in way. :-\

Only ever cast after I'm already in body. Obviously it fails in ANY other  situation.

Even with my GM alowing it as a bonus to "attune" to the new body I would still have to diferentiate between the body with a little life and my soul so I'm not casting on myself. :P

Interesting.
Thanks LM
