Only if the Guild Companion is able to find the author. That is one of the products that ICE does not own the full rights to.

even if reprinting vikings is out of the question, is recreating such a book an option?

I have vikings but I'd love egypt...

The only setting product that ICE has the full rights to is Mythic Greece. Unfortunately, I don't think that we have any of the files for it (and it is one of the few products that I don't personally own a copy of). That means that in order to republish it, ICE would would have to something along the lines of what was done for RMC, get one or more persons to OCR/transcribe and clean it up (we would also have to remove any Hero related material and dual-stat it for RMFRP (and maybe HARP also)).

All of the other "setting" books would require the Guild Companion to hunt down the authors and make deals with them.

Although I haven't seen it in years, I have found memories of Mythic Greece. I am sure ICE will find volunteers to the job but I am not sure the book will find a public to be a commercial success. Perhaps P.O.D. would solve this problem but I think it would be a risky release.

What is it that makes those products desireable?
Rules related content or Setting related content?

If it is Rules stuff, then I would suggest it be approached in a format similar to RMQ or HB with small pdf's being offered and once enough material is published - a compendium be published containing all of it.

If it is the Setting stuff, then I would prefer ICE to focus on other gaming material first.

If someone can find the authors of the old setting books, and they are amenable, it may be possible to work out a reprint deal via TGC, though as Tim notes all the Fantasy Hero stuff in the old books would have to come out.

Alternately, we'll certainly entertain new articles on either historical rules and/or historical settings in the Guild Companion magazine. (We've published a lot of Mythic Greece -related articles and some Robin Hood ones.) If someone feels really brave, they are welcome to contact me about writing a new historical sourcebook.

Best wishes,
Nicholas

Hmm the book that I miss the most (I have disappeaerd) is Mytic Egypt.
I'm new here, but have played RM2 on and off for 20 years. :)

We never used those historical books except to some extent the oriental companion and the arabian nights one, which was really good. We own the rest but never used them. Especially Robin Hood was one that just had to be in the shelf because of the setting but then was never used.
