New World in Design
« on: April 21, 2021, 08:08:34 PM »
I just picked up the Essence Companion, and immediately I felt nostalgic.  So I picked up RMFRP, Character Law, Arms Law, the Mentalism Companion, Character Law, and the Arcane Companion also.

I miss Rolemaster, so I'm coming back.  Unfortunately, I think I can only get my cousin to play. I'm thinking of something grand for this Rolemaster campaign.

That sounds like a Grand Campaign (tm)!

Welcome to the forums. As I told another newcomer, you might be able to find a virtual game (via a VTT like Fantasy Grounds) in the Gamers Seeking Gamers section of the forums. Last time I checked there was also an open RM game on Roll20.

Thank you, Hurin, for your help. What I read of the Essence companion is partly inspiring.  I have RMSR, RMFRP (with RMSR in it, lol!), Arms Law, Channeling Companion, the Mentalism Companion, the Martial Arts companion, Fire and Ice, and RMSS Spell Law.  But most of my books are in storage, so I'm getting the .pdfs off drivethru.  I think I may have the Armory also in storage.

I can use a published world (got the 1e Forgotten Realms on .pdf, and the 2e and 3e Forgotten Realms in storage).  But I'd rather build something original.  I also have some RM2 books, but they are in storage.  I prefer RMSS/RMFRP though.

I'm thinking of using the Elemental Companion though, for this new world.  I'm going to build the world using the Wiki on Fandom.com.  It's easier for me to build that way.

That's cool. On a bit of a tangent, in my current campaign (using RMU beta rules), I have a player who said he wanted to play an Airbender, like from the Avatar TV series. It worked out well though because I had just remade the Warrior Mage class for RMU, and he'll use martial arts as his main weapon (which has a lot of synergy because it means his hands will be free for casting spells when he needs to). I've let him use the five base lists for Warrior Mage that I made/revised, as well as one list from Fire and Ice: The Elemental Companion (one of the Elemental Specialist lists corresponding to his chosen element).

While you might have some luck here on the forums, I would also suggest you check out the ICE Discord server.
