Weapons and Monsters
« on: January 25, 2016, 03:41:18 PM »
I remember dimly from my old MERP and Rolemaster days that there was some sort of paragraph on the use of bladed weapons against skeletons but I cannot find it anywhere.  Does anyone remember where that can be found and/or what it said?

(There was something similar in the MERP books, I think, on Ents and bladed or blunt weapons.)

I believe the official RMSS Creature Manual only mentions puncture weapons do no harm to Skeletons. My rule is slashing weapons are 1/2 damage but a Crush Crit gets full damage, and crushing weapons such as hammers, clubs, maces etc. do full damage.

RMC Creatures and Treasures also says that skeletons are unaffected by puncture criticals but I personally rule that slash criticals that effect body parts the skeleton does not have do not apply eg muscle damage.

No puncture wounds and 1/2 damage from slashing with no penalty for muscle, nerve or bleeding effects. Blunt weapons do full damage with the above restrictions. (I read this in the rules once but cannot find the example)
