Greetings

I may be wrong but I read p90 as saying that you can source the DPs to develop Perception from anywhere on a 1:1 basis not that the cost is different - p90 explicitly says that the only two exceptions to the way skill ranks are increased are M&M and learning spell lists.

Regards

Edward

So I take that to mean it still costs 3 DPs to increase PER 2 ranks.

There is a profession bonus table on pg 245 in the MERP 2e appendix.  Are these bonuses static bonuses you get added to your skills from the profession you take?

Is it the level bonus table?  +3/+2/+1 to various skills?  If so; then the bonuses are +/level.  So, a warrior would get +3/level to Body Development; yielding a +9 at level 3, a +12 at level 4 etc.

Might be.  I'm speaking of the Profession Bonus table on pg 245, Table BT-6 in MERP 2e.  Not the DPs you get when you level up.

Then they are handled as I demonstrated earlier.

Is there a rule for helping/aiding another? If so, how does it work please? I don't see anything for it so far in the core rulebook.

Depends on what kind of help you mean.  I'm a simplicity first kinda GM, so, when people want to help each other I generally reduce the difficulty.  For example; a party needs to roll a boulder out of the way.  The Boulder is a Very Hard action to move.  Jeremy is the strongest with a +25 STR so he is going to make the roll; while tara & dean help him they have a combined STR of +30.  I would say that a +30 would reduce the difficulty by 1 degree & Jeremy can roll a Hard Action.

That is a good idea of keeping things simple and good adjudication I'd say, Witchking20k.
