Title: Collected errata & rulings in .pdf format?
Post by: ReaperWolf on November 18, 2011, 09:26:24 PM
Any chance we could get a frequently updated collected errata and rulings document in .pdf?

I'll bake cookies. :D

I collected all the rulings and errata from this forum and I'm in the process of finding page references. Once this is done I'll format the doc for easy reference.

Once this is wrapped up, I can submit in either word or pdf to whomever wants it. If you'd like feel free to host on the ICE site.

I have a warm and fuzzy feeling, as it was a lot of work to go find it all and drag it back here. . .good luck.

My task temporarily got back-burnered but I'm determined to sort this out by weekend end.

Marc, there's a reference in the Vehicle Manual errata indicating the weapon tables in the VM are wrong and a link is provided but the link appears to lead to the ICE front page. Do you have a new link?

Thanks!

If he does not get back to you I have the redone tables or you can go to R Defende's website and also get the same tables.

That's really strange, I'll look into it.

Yup, that link leads to a download page.

Maybe we need a Privateers vault like the HARP vault where the work of industrious fans and the errata can be posted for all to enjoy?

There is one.
I just don't currently have them well organized.  I'll work on it during the next week and I'll post an update when completed

Not sure if this belongs in Privateers rulebook or the Races & Cultures but I found a discrepancy between the Privateers rulebook and Races & Cultures regarding the Human Adolescent skills.

In the Privateers Rulebook page 39 the only race to receive a rank in the Athletic*Gymnastic skill category and Climbing skill is the Falanar but in the Races & Cultures book page 55 humans do as well.

Which is correct, Privateers or Races & Cultures?

Thanks!

I felt the need to necro this thread, as I just received my SM:P books this morning.

If the compiled errata/rulings document wasn't finished, I'd be happy to take on the task. I'll put it all together, hunt down page number references, and make it look nice 'n pretty. I'll provide .doc and .pdf formats.

Any other formats that might be useful?

While I'm on this, the link to the Campaign Cartographer version of the system map is dead. The link to the viewer leads to the demo page, which isn't quite the same -- the demos are 14-day limited editors, while the viewer is a free non-editing version. Here is a link to the viewer:

I'm considering putting that system info into some sort of 3D map, but I'm not sure what would work best. We don't have enough hard data to use Celestia or Universe Sandbox (more's the pity), so I might just plot out some basic points in a Sketchup file so that everything shows up in 3D.

I'd suggest going the route of PMing those responsible for green-lighting a project, like say Nicholas.

That is a very good suggestion. No in fact an excellent suggestion.

Done. We'll see what he thinks of it.

I got the green-light for this project, so I'm putting it together. Ran into a snag, though: in the official errata in the forum, the link for the corrected Blaster/Laser/Etc. critical tables is dead.

Here (http://www.ironcrown.com/ICEforums/index.php?topic=10573.msg134077#msg134077) is the relevant post.

Can we get that Zip file added to the vault? I plan on putting a hyperlink in all of the documents I'm making, and I need to make sure it'll work.

I could swear it was added to the vault.

You can find links to copies of the tables near the bottom of this page:

I also have a complete copy of R Defendi's Priveters page off his website if you need it. But IIRC his site has been recovered and can be accessed again.
But if you need any more help PM me and I will see what I can do also.

Marc, do you still have those revised attack charts from the Vehicle Manual? Your warning against using the ones in the book doesn't include a download link, and the Vault doesn't have it either.

While I'm here, is this (http://) errata on grenades correct? It seems to imply that grenades are potentially lethal even at 40 meters ('cause an attack roll, even at -100, can still roll high enough to kill). I don't know anyone who could reliably chuck a grenade 120 feet.

I cut and pasted the info for the grenades from Defend's website to one of the topics but the link is not active yet so I cannot be sure. Yes from my copy of the site it does have grenade info to 40m.
I just looked and I do have the new SMP:VM weapon ships weapon tables I will up load the file so it can be put into the Vault.
