The group I play with has been together for about 35 years. My best friend and I started it, then my brother joined 5 years later, my nephew 10 years after that and then some other friends.
We have been dedicated to role playing weekly and have done this like i said some 35 years. So about 10 years ago my friend says to me, "Do you think we are any good"? I said "What are you talking about"?
Well he says we should enter a tournament and see how we do.. I said who cares we play to enjoy not to win. At the time we were playing Hackmaster and played it hardcore. We had five players and would play 10 hours a week.
Our local gaming store has a tourney and we decide to try it. We have never been to any con before this and decide to enter. Our group is old and anal. We are meticulous and exploit everything possible.
Ten teams entered this tournament with a possibility of 1000 pts to earn in the adventure. Our group earned 1000 points and took the first 5 places. It was so amazing.
So if you think you know, try it you might be suprised.
