Once a Demon is Summoned and it takes the usual ~2 rounds to form, if you kill the Summoner, would the Demon still appear?

Or would it appear and act on the situation... ie. attack/flee just like control was lost.

I had it decide to dissipate because the party would have probably creamed it and sent it back 'from whence it came' for a very long time.

IIRC if a summoned demon is not controlled after being summoned, you have to roll on a small table to see what happens (usually he inflicts some random critical to the summoner). The table should be in the last section of spell law, I don't have the books with me right now, so I can't give you a more detailed reference...
I suppose a magician might, he admitted, but a gentleman never could.

IMO yes, it would still appear.

This would be the correct way to handle it.
