Topic: Battle Rune clarification

Just a quick and easy clarification as requested by our gaming group.  Battle Runes are meant for Universal spells and in order to do any other sphere (including one's professional sphere) one must have a minimum of 20 ranks plus PP cost, correct? 

This would mean that a character would need to be at least 7th level in order to begin using Battle Runes effectively (24 max ranks).  I just want to make sure this is the intention of the skill.  Thanks.

No, he would need to be 2nd level, (Arcane Bolt, a universal spell, costs 2 PP), thus you would need 7 ranks minimum for a 2 PP spell using Battle Runes.

The 7th level thing would be for using Battle RUnes with non-Universal spells.

And don't forget, the real purpose behind Battle RUnes is to allow non-casters a way to work with some spells (or spells that one normally does not have access to).

Normal Runes could be used else wise.
