Healing and Injury
« on: November 18, 2008, 01:33:18 PM »
On page 46 in the Character Law on table 04-01 we find the Healing and Injury entries.

I dont quite understand how to apply Rec.X. Which race has the "good" one?

The smaller the Recovery Multiplier, the better.

On page 145, you can find the Healing Recovery Table, which is used to determine how long it takes a character to heal naturally from a given wound (this is based on the severity of the wound and the character's Con bonus, etc..)

This can generate recovery times from 1-100 days for a given injury. The racial mods would then adjust these times.

For example, say you have a Con bonus of 5, and a Recover Multiplier of 0.5 and you take a Severe injury (Organ damage). Rolling on the table on page 145, you roll low, a 23 for a total of 28, resulting 6 x 10 (Severe) days to heal the injury. Your Racial multiplier is then applied  -->  60 x 0.5 = 30 days to heal the Organ damage.

I know it's not officially in the rules, but I use it for Hit Recovery also.    It doesn't make sense that a race might heal slower from injuries but hits are all the same.

I use it for hits also. And we roll for each crit seperatly. ;D

But, I seem to remember that pure concussion hits (i.e. not slash or puncture) heal realy fast compared to crit hits. Like in hours or something.
I think that rule had something to do with brawling or unarmed combat.

Anybody know where that was listed and the specifics? Probaly an optional rule we use as "core". Can't seem to find it. :bang:

Normal healing rate is 1 hit per hour resting, 1 hit per three hours of activity.

Pretty fast.
But I would sometimes slow down the recovery accordingly to the Recovery Table:
The hits are results of a minor slash, so the tissue have to heal to get the hits back.

Actually, hits fall under the "tissue" column.

Hi all,

I have normal damage recover per hour resting and critical damage (the +X in the critical description) heal per day resting (unless healed via spell or herb or surgery). Similar for recovery of blood loss or damage due to burns (X round wounds).

Ciao,
