Increasing exhaustion points ?
« on: May 04, 2008, 12:26:05 AM »
It seems a little odd that theres no way (ther than talents and stat increases) to raise exhaustion points.

Would seem logical that Body development would benefit exhaustion as well. Maybe +1 per rank, or 10% of skill total ?

The only HR I would recommend for exhaustion points is not using them!  ;D
Seriously, they're only extra book-keeping for no real advantage. If you want to simulate fatigue use HP loss: they give penalties to actions (like Exh points), you can increase them practice and if you reach zero HP you faint...
I suppose a magician might, he admitted, but a gentleman never could.

The Distance Running and Sprinting skills quite accurately reflect an increase in Exhp, by effectively reducing the rate of expenditure by increasing the distances covered for the same amount of Exhp.

As far as combat goes, then perhaps increase the onset time for losing exhp by the number of ranks of body development... so a character with 10 ranks only needs to start worrying about being fatigued in combat after 10 rounds.

RM2 had a skill called "endurance" that increased your Exhaustion points. the basic skill gave an additional 5 Exhaust points per rank purchased the cost was the same as Body development. It is found in the Arms companion of RM2.

so you could either Add that skill, or just give an additional 5 Exhaustion points per Body development rank purchased.

IMO, running and sprinting would only adjust how many ExP [not EXP] you spent on an action, not give you more. I can see if you use ExP that there has to be some way for it to go up as well as down with age or cronic conditions. ie like perminate penalties from nerve wounds etc.
You could add a fitness skill or use the categorie ranks to increase the ExP value in some way.

It seems to me it could create misunderstanding 'cause there's a skill with that name yet (Athletic Game - Endurance).
so you could either Add that skill, or just give an additional 5 Exhaustion points per Body development rank purchased.
It's a good idea. Maybe you can create a ExP development similar to Body development.
