under special modifiers the bonus or minus to chain/plate... is that to chain, plate, chain/plate, or all of the above?

I was prepping for my HARP game, using HB11 combat, and noticed that daggers do puncture crits in HB11, but slash in ML and core...
Just out of curiosity, what gives?

And, how should one use the armors made from special substances (as found in ML) with HB11?

Good question actually, I haven?t thought about that, I guess it could still work the way it does, as long as the appropriate deduction for armour type is done. Although I?m not sure if that would be the case, it seems plausible to me.
And certain of these metals and exotic materials might also protect as a different armour type than what the basis of its creation is.. or what say you?

Your reply sounds right... probably the way I shall run it too.
I probably won't use all those materials, but I am sure to use at least some of them...
I thought that Tim had commented on this before, but I can't find it...

Perhaps he will pop in and school us a bit!

Most likely cause RMX had it as a puncture weapon, and I didn't notice...  :P It should work either way (heck, let dagger wielder decide slash or stab).

bonus to DB -- same as now

a suit of armour made by spider-silk, would be considered what armour type?

Most likely it would be cloth or soft leather at most

so it boosts DB, but does nothing towards damage adjustment? in ML, how would you treat it? I always thought it was more durable than normal cloth or soft leather...

On page 47 of Martial Law, Spidersilk is described as lightweight, but strong cloth armor.

That strength is reflected in its bonus to DB. But it is still cloth, so once an attack gets through (past the extra DB), it will do damage normally (i.e. as against cloth).
