Question regarding CoM Summon Undead spell
« on: October 26, 2007, 11:31:51 AM »
First question:

In CoM, the Summon Undead spell (p. 89) indicates:

PP COST: 5
RANGE: Self
DURATION: 5 rounds/rank
SPELL TYPE: Utility
RR: ?
SPHERES: Necromancer

However, if you go to: http://www.guildcompanion.com/scrolls/2004/jul/spellcosts.html
and scroll down to the spell description, it indicates that:

Summon Undead
 Action Aspects: Move (5); Teleport (20 * 2 = 40); Return (10 * 2 = 20)

Object Aspects: Body (5); Death (15 * 2 = 30)

Total: 100
 Casting Time: --
Range: Self (5)
AoE: 1 target (10)
Duration: 5 rnds/rnk (50)
Permanency: --
Total: 65
 165
 Total: 9 PP

I assume the 9 PP number is the correct value?

Second question:

The spell has a 5 round/rank duration.  Does the Undead just go away at the end of the duration? If its a Type I or II (or any of the "unintelligent" undead)  wouldn't it just wander around as it normally does, just in the current location?  The intelligent undead would seem to make a choice to stay or go, depending on how it benefits them.   Or is the undead teleported away at the end of the durationl, kind of the reverse of the summoning?  What if I have cast "Control Undead" as well?  If its under my control, will it leave?

Thanks!

If the Undead is not banished before the end of the duration it remains.

As for the Aspect pricing, that is wrong. I cannot, at this point, remember what it was supposed to be, but the total point for all aspects had to have fallen between 90 and 110, in order to make the PP Cost be 5 PP.
