RRs against hybrid spellcaster spells
« on: March 24, 2019, 04:24:37 AM »
Hi all,
I have one sorcerer in my party. The RRs against spells of the sorcerer (from his base list) are on Essence or on Channeling?
Could you please point the page in the core rulebook or in the spell law where this information is reported?
Thanks.

Per page 39 of the RMSS rulebook, hybrids use the two relevant stats for the base spells rather than three times the realm stat. So resisting against a sorcerers base spells would be use the Channeling and Essence stats. There is some disagreement about how to handle the race bonus, either add or average the realm race bonuses. see http://www.ironcrown.com/ICEforums/index.php?topic=11044.msg139948#msg139948

You use a combination. Pg 26 of RMSS says: "The conditions which interfere with casting spells from each of the three realm (see Sections 26.0)... When casting one of the spells from his base lists, he suffers the interference from both realms"   If you look at the * mark on the table, it's note says "With each condition, use the worst (to the caster) mod. applicable during any preparation round or casting round". So your sorcerer with no free hands would use the essence -30 and no voice would use the channeling -10.

Thanks. One last question: where are the RRs bonus of monsters. For example: how can i figure a goblin bonus against a sorcerer spell? Where are the stat/race bonus? And the total bonus? Are they inferred from the monster level and type or there is some different procedure?

I am pretty sure C&M just uses level, I don't remember seeing race bonuses for any creature...

Old access to RoCo VI, I think, had racial stats for every monster in RM2 C&T+.

Valuable to convert, if wanting even crunchier combat RRs from foes.
