Generally, I don't bump, but did you also remember to double DP at first level?

I did, the only thing I realize I forgot are the profession ranks, so that's probably why.

Did you also include the cultural skill ranks?

Yes, I did everything by the book, except for the Professions ranks. I still haven't played it though, I have to gather my friends one evening and they are all 100% new to RPGs so I'm creating the characters myself.

Pregens are always a good idea. Especially for RPG initiates.

Ohhh, I was about to say that it's odd since I bought the PDFs on November 16th, barely over a month ago and I didn't see the Swashbuckler on the Master Talent List, but I found it under Agile Defense. :bang: My bad! Guess I need another read of the book. ::) I read that part while I was on the lookout for the bus to take me home, so my attention wasn't optimal.

And I know about the superhero thing, I wasn't expecting that. Much less at lvl 1. All I said is that it seemed like the skills for Lvl 1 Char on HARP are a little less than their RMFRP counterparts IIRC. Maybe because the RM ones receive a full bonus at lvl 1 and then nothing as opposed to the +X every 3/5/7 levels of their HARP counterparts.

My concern is mainly out of the fact that we're only 3-4 guys myself included. I guess I can compensate for that starting at 2nd level.

Charlie Four,

You did give them double the development points at first level, right?

I have not found first level characters to be that under powered to start out with, I mean they are new to adventuring after all.  They just need to feel their way around a bit until they get some experience under their belts and remember to retreat if overmatched.  Also, don't forget to let them use the terrain to their advange, even little plus helps out in combat.  A healer, of some type, is very advisable for a starting group of level 1 PCs.

I'm not sure how you missed it, but he affirmed that he did double DP at first level near the beginning of this page after I asked him.

As has been mentioned before, not necessarily in this topic, some players don't run because their playstyle is Hack & Slash, which I think HARP is a poor fit for.
