Title: Differences between 1st and 2nd edition MERP

What are the differences between the two systems? I see a lot of 1st and 2nd edition out there and I want to know before I pick anything up

get the 2nd. it retains the 1st intact and adds more material, like expanded (optional) professions.

both are well done and easy to expand with AL and SL.
