I've been full of questions lately. One of my PCs insta-killed a robot using an electrostunner. The rules for ablative coatings say they protect against Energy attacks, and the electrostunner counts as energy for the weapon group and Neuro for the critical. Would the robot's ablative coating have spent a layer protecting against this attack? Even if so, the robot's brain would still be scrambled, it was a good attack. Thank you.

I think I found the answer to this on my own by looking at weapon groupings. Ablative coating would not protect against melee weapons that use the Neuro charts, but it would against ranged.

Correct. Ablative will not protect against Neuro.

Best wishes,
