Detailed information on languages and maps with borders indicating countries/kingdoms/nations...you get the picture.
Information on various cities and how the population is distributed? Where can you find the different races?

Hmm the languages idea is interesting... There will def. be info on cities, though there aren't many in SE

Some stuff about the Shuluri of Malqanar ?

Of course!  ;)

How about some information concerning the Vorloi tree spirits from the Isle of Jade region?

Oh yes.

Short adventures that expose you to quirks of the cultures & people of Emer.  That kinda thing.  It would be good to have some of the info presented in Haestra, and the other Emer books that were released in PDF updated, but not too much you can use Emer III to plug that material

There will be a range of adventures, and I hope to advance the timeline a bit, with a few references to big events in the rest of Emer. It's amazing how long and arduous it is just to collate all the historical info for a new timeline!

I can imagine.  One of the challenges I have found with players in the past is that it is difficult to get them interested in playing the individual cultures presented in SW.  That is why I was hoping to have some adventures that would touch on aspects of cultures that are unique to SW.  There are just a ton of "peoples" to choose from, and if you've never played in SW, it can be quite a daunting task just to choose one!  How about a Shadow World based random encounter table?  And an adventure revolving around a Flow Storm (again to introduce palyers to a key element of SW)?

ACTUALLY...  ;) I am separating out the race descriptions from culture descriptions in E3, since of course the two are not necessarily the same; there are dozens if not hundreds of Shay cultures in the world for instance.

And I'm glad you mentioned the encounter chart! There was one in the old first edition atlas and I wanted to resurrect it and possibly do regionally-customized ones.

Bravo!  To say nothing of the interracial nature of culture in places like Kaitaine, Sel-Kai, and Port of Izar...

All this talk of Emer III has gotten me back into Shadow World. (For the umpteenth time!)

I think those of us (like me) who like to be able to improvise while DMing when the players take a left turn will find that very welcome.

I've run entire campaigns on encounter charts.  Very usefull, especially if you incorperate an "environmental element" into it.  Traps, storms, ruins etc. can be factored into a Saralis Countryside chart for example...as is the one I am working with right now....and then the players can't always tell which encounters are random and which are planned....

A lot of SE Emer is rainforest, an environment not really explored thoroughly in Shadow World. And as on earth there is a very different biosphere, with lots of unique magical herbs and drugs and such. Lots of fun new magical herbs!

Hmmm trial by error Herb testing....sounds like fun ;)

Some of the more peripheral modules touch on Rain Forests & semi-tropic environments, but overall SW has a Europian feel.  Not a bad thing in my mind as players can related easily to it.  But, it would be fun to incorperate a new environemtn.

Jumping back and forth between current locations and the timeline as I write.

Wow so much left to explain in the Emerian Empire, what was going on in the early 3rd Era to set up the current situation. Needless to say that old Emer book from way back was very cursory. And the Isle(s) of Glass...

So is all this information just lurking in you mind?  Have you had the whole storyline of Emer on your brain for 20yrs+ and just not found time to scribe it out?

I've recently bought the first Shadow World master atlas and the Emer book on ebay and have been loving the detail of the whole planet! I'm going to be getting the Master Atlas 4th edition and if you're updating the Emer book, it'll also be a 'must buy' for me! :)
