Hi All,

I have posted a PDF of the 'classic' adventure called The White Wood, set in Emer. It was originally released back in the 90's, I believe in an issue of the old IQ magazine. In related news, I've put up pdfs of several old IQ issues, provided by a fan. I have a few others that I've been inspired to scan by another fan.

Just realized that the fonts were not embedded in that old file. I went back and embedded the correct fonts and reloaded it. It should look a little prettier now.

Is the Telepathy intened to continue after the adventure is "completed?"  That is, after the Insanity has passed from the first character to the second and the second has been healed of the insanity?  Or, is the telepathy intended just for the period of the adventure?

Yes definitely the telepathy was intended to be a permanent benefit (it would be cruel to deny it since that was the goal) However I would suggest placing specific limitations on it so it doesn't get out of control. Require concentration, perhaps the number of times and length of time they can use it without becoming tired, and possibly range limitations (perhaps a few miles). I'd allow them to develop skill in it though, increasing range and time. I would not impose this until after the adventure though. Oh, and the players should be discouraged from anyone else trying the device!

My plan is to use it as a jab at one of the players who is very secretive.  He was belligerent with a powerful alchemist (unaware that he was powerful or an alchemist).  So, in order to earn favor so that the alchemist will enchant items for the party, they must travel to the White Wood.  The offensive party member must lay on the stone along with another party member their choosing and "return with what they receive." 

Of course to many having a telepathic link would be cool but I am not sure that is true for the secretive PC.     And it will be a matter of amusement for the alchemist to know that he drove him temporarily insane.

I may also use this plane shift to move them from G'thal to Jaiman.  That would keep them from coming back to the site and continually re-using it.  Though I may also just determine that the device requires some time interval before being used again.

Obviously, however you want to play it is fine with me. However, I had envisioned the Telepathy as more like 'thought talking' once the character regained his sanity. One character accidentally revealing knowledge to the other through it would only happen if he 'fumbled' a telepathy roll (like the other one tricked him into thinking it, as one could do in conversation and someone blurts something out). But that's just my take.

I agree.  I wasn't thinking that the other one would be stealing thoughts from his head.  Just that he might take it as some loss of privacy regardless.   Of course, he may find it to be the coolest thing thing that ever happened to him.  but, either way, I think that it will add a roleplaying aspect to the dynamic.
