Sword and the Sorcerer 2
« on: July 02, 2008, 10:14:24 AM »
I apologize for not posting to the 'appropriate' forum list, but (haha, like you didn't see that coming.) this is the group that I tend to gravitate to.

It would seem that they are making Sword and the Sorcerer 2: Tales of the Ancient Empire.

http://www.cinematical.com/2008/04/11/wow-that-sword-and-the-sorcerer-sequel-is-actually-happening/
Apparently Lambert is in it. The last time he did a sword movie with decent fight scenes, he nearly cut Peables fingers off. Also Sorbo is in it, wonder if he will play a Meet the Spartan's type character. Maybe more Kull?

Expected in 2010... If it happens at all.

Also, and I think this is more common knowledge... They are making a new Conan!
http://www.cinematical.com/2006/06/15/conan-is-back-again/
I dreaded that they might feel the need to 'remake' Conan the Barbarian as it is pretty damn good as Fantasy movies go. At least the sword play is better then the 13th Warrior... LOL... that movie's fight scenes suck Ordainer's Mother's Breast Milk.

Now all we need is a new "Twin Barbarians" and the Triangle will be complete! (There was something about the Twin Barbarians, reminded me of many of my PC's in High School.)

Again, sorry if this sets off a forum vigilante.

Isn't Lambert getting old? Last thing I saw him in was Mortal Kombat

Sorbo's getting up there too. God I miss Xena.

I think Lambert is about 600 by now! Probably still has that miss forged dragon katana too. He has done a lot of really bad movies in the last few years. Some cheese remake of Grendal but about 2000 years in the future, and then one where he plays a wizard of some sort and there were unpleasant rumblings of yet another Highlander movie.

I am unsure of the premise, but Lee is back and playing the Father of the hero's. I would hope that Lambert is something else other then a son. I keep getting this vision of him running around hunting the kurgan and screaming "There can only be One!" then killing Sorbo (with my blessings that is)...

I used to watch Xena for Gabbie... yea... Gabbie... sweet sweet Ga... errr.... hehe

Elrik the Mighty
Roams through the countryside
He never needs a place to hide
With Gabby as his sidekick
Fighting with her little stick
Righting wrongs and singing songs
Being mighty all day long
He's Elrik?he's Elrik the Mighty!
Oohhhhhh?
He's Elrik the Mighty
He's really tidy
Everybody likes him
'Cause he has a funny grin
Elrik?
Elrik the Mighty!

Elrik the Mighty
He's very tidy
Everyone admires him
He's so handsome it's a sin
When you're in jeopardy
Don't call the cavalry
There's a better remedy
(Although he doesn't work for free)
He's every man's trusty,
He's every woman's fantasy,
Plus he's goo-oood company
He's Elrik?
I'm Elrik the Mighty!

Blood?valour?and victory! Ha-HA!
Elrik the Mighty
He's very tidy
Everyone admires him
He's so handsome it's a sin
When things get grim
He'll take it on the chin
If you're in jeopardy
Caused by the enemy
Don't call the cavalry
There's a better remedy
(Although he doesn't work for free!)
He's every man's trusty,
He's every woman's fantasy,
Plus he's goo-oood company
Look out! He's Elrik--

Lambert is a highlander.  Sorbo will have to cut his head off before he stops making B films.   ;)

At least 3 and 4 weren't as bad as Highlander 2.

Highlander:  There should have been only one.

I use Highlander as the perfect example of how important a writer is to making a film.  The one and only difference between Highlander and Highlander 2, besides a huge budget increase, is that 2 has a different writer.  Same director, same producers, alot more money, and 2 is a convoluted piece of junk that makes little sense.  Of course that's just my opinion - someone out there probably loves the 2nd movie and thinks the first stinks...  Even though they're wrong.  :)

Anyone who thinks Highlander 2 was good needs help. Apparently even the director hated it, and walked out of the cinema because it was so bad. The reason the film was so bad is supposed to be because the company funding it kept interfering, as they were having financial problems, so needed to make it a bigger success. Guess that didn't work out so well.

Highlander 2 is indeed an affront. Shockingly so  :o. I think #3 was passable, but yeah - there should have been only one.

I thought the series was okay though.
