I actually hypothesized that there would be more from Europe...

And it also seems that most of us are... middle aged...

American here. Just about everyone I know is monolingual and my German isn't good enough for gaming anyway.

Another French here.
We play with character sheets and spell lists in English, about half the time my players will call the skill they want to use with its English name.

Lots of French and Americans. All good! Im from Norway, myselfe, which is pretty cold these days..

I guess other factors than nationality. e.g. education, sex, athletic (in)disposition etc, would better predict the propensity to become a gamer.

The nationality survey wasn't done to predict the propensity to be a gamer, but rather to see where ICE games are more popular. I had previously thought that ICE was more popular outside the US than within it, but as you can see, it is pretty close... and you can never be sure because not everybody who plays/enjoys ICE games will visit this website, and even if they do, they might not participate.
And IMHO, those things you listed have minimal influence on whether one is a gamer or not. I think it hinges more on interest and availability.

Denmark, so bow down to our supremecy!!
Supremacy? losing Norway (i.e. us) to Sweden (because of a silly, yet inevitable, alliance with Napoleon) is not a sign of supremacy... granted, being part of Denmark-Norway was only sort of silly, but being part of the Sweden-Norway "union" is perhaps one of the greatest jokes in history (the Swedish, and thus Norwegian, king didn’t even know our constitution and by mistake renounced his rule over Norway, good story that is)...

I long for the good old hey-days of the Kalmar-Union, that would’ve been a power to be reckoned with today I think.

so, for those who wondered, I’m Norwegian, all arrogant and full of myself.

I live in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. If there are other RM fans out there...

Not all gamers of North America live in the US. :P In my RPG club, we too use mainly English version of RPG games. But I saw one day a french version of Spell Law and was impressed by the quality of the translation. I mean there are often new words created with fantasy settings, how do you deal with them? And sometimes you need knowledge of some obscure field to understand the text...

Anyway, it's snowing today, so we may have a white Christmas!
