The "Unknown Father" Executioner
« on: September 16, 2015, 12:21:29 AM »
Sorry for the creative name but I was wondering what people thought of the "Unknown Father" Executioner last night on FX (at least here in the USA it was on that channel)?

I'm assuming you mean The Bastard Executioner?  I forgot to set that to record, although I have to say my guess is on the side of it being cheesy...

I wanted to like it more than I did and I saw that Rotten Tomatoes gave it a score in the 30%. I had seen quite a bit of hype about it from various places and mostly thay had good things to say.
But as always every new TV show is the "best" there has ever been and nothing compares to it. But few live up to that line.

All I saw of it was about 30 seconds... at about 9 minutes in when I was flipping channels.  It was a sex scene and my wife immediately commented on the graphic aspect, with a head nod referencing that my 12 year old son was still awake - so we changed the channel quickly.  Never bothered to turn it back on later.

Yes there was about a 20 to 30 second scene, I guess that was why it was rated TV-MA. I would also guess they are trying to get the Game of Thrones crowed to tune in.
I also know the channel has been pushing the limits on various other shows such as The Strain and American Horror Story.

I guess I timed it right (or wrong) then.

Well since you kid was there it probably was better you tuned in when you did as he did not get involved and then ask you what just happened and have you or your wife explain it. ;D

He's old enough to have already had that chat - but still young enough to make us uncomfortable in that situation.
