Been missing the old Rolemaster lately... Thought I'd check in again around these parts see if anyone remembers me  from the old days.

Who's playing what these days?

Regards,

Mourglin

"So-heavily modified and house-ruled RM2 that it may not really be RM2 any longer" RM2.

The world was then consumed by darkness, and mankind was devoured alive and cast into hell, led by a jubilant 紗羽. She rejoiced in being able to continue serving the gods, thus perpetuating her travels across worlds to destroy them. She looked at her doll and, remembering their promises, told her: "You see, my dear, we succeeded! We've become legends! We've become villains! We've become witches!" She then laughed with a joyful, childlike laughter, just as she kept doing for all of eternity.

Running today RM2 with all companions (except elemental) in Shadow world (in Gaalt - so basically my own setting with SW general features) or RMSS in own setting with things loaned from e.g. Archerndurn (the city itself).

@Olf Creepy!

Welcome back Mourglin.  While I don't remember you from the old days, I am still heavily entrenched in RM2.  I've been looking at RMU and can't wait for the 2nd Beta release to come out.  Recently introduced eight new players to RM2 this past holiday season.

:)  Just the opposite for me!  Running RM2 with all the companions and ONLY Elemental Companion as the source of magic.  It's a purely elemental world.  Love Shadow World and Quellbourne in particular.

I have always referred to them as classic due to age, but I don't really know what system they belong to.

I have been running a Middle Earth 4th Age campaign using;

ICE RM 1300 Character Law & Campaign Law 1985?
ICE RM 1100 Arms Law & Claw Law 1985?
ICE RM 1200 Spell Law 1984?
ICE 1600 Rolemaster Companion II
and some other odds & ends.
Oh, and ICE 8000 Middle-Earth Role Playing 1986 for added flavor.
And lots of house rules!

Been having some scheduling issues - being an adult is hard sometimes  ::) but hoping for another session in March/April

I have considered updating to RMU after the Beta2 gets released. Not a for sure thing though.

Presidion11,
The rules above are RM2 but RMC or Rm Classic were a gathering of RM2 rules and published in a set of books as RM2 players were having a hard time finding physical copies of the rules.
The Middle Earth stuff was published by ICE way back and the rights have reverted back to the people who have it now.

There should really be a good title to go along with that specific number of posts.  "Spawn of the Devil" maybe?

recently started campaign in RMC w/o the books---using ERA and my RM2 books. My own setting, of course, which is causing some friction with a 30-yr RM/D&D player's expectations & assumptions. Two weeks ago was char gen, and first session is upcoming Monday.

Playing RM Classic with a couple of the companions (or a few individual companion rules) plus plenty of house rules, in Shadow World but using a modified D20 campaign. Oh and using the Rolemaster Combat Minion app of course. So using the old and the new ;)

Same for lurking and checking in after a lot of time away!

Yup, RM2 and RMCs I-VI and EC with Shadow World for the win!
House ruled up for what we like and what we didn't.

Anyone with Roll20.net aspirations as a GM?

Thanks, MDC.
Used to be here long ago - just after the purchase of the IP- and rah-rah'd, then.
Overjoyed to see there is still a tight community for RM/ICE products!

Now to add some newer Shadow World to my bookshelves and get the old group back together!

Majyk,
Terry does a great job of keeping people informed about up-coming products and the process of new products. You should check out the Shadow World section if you are interested in this.

Howdy Mourglin....we meet again....hopefully this time you don't put an arrow in my back?!?!
What am I playing now? Should be RMC with you at GENCON this summer!  ;D
Hey, you should seriously post here on the forum some of your AMAZING PC background write-ups you did for your ME campaign a few years back. What say you? Those are the most detailed (and perfectly sync'd to Tolkien's landscape) narratives I've come across for such a lowly band of players. :o Think folks running anything MERP-related could really benefit and give you lots of oooooohhhs and aaaaaaahhhhs.

Hello! I also haven't been around for quite some time, been playing some Pathfinder  :o but that's kind of come to an end, and haven't been playing anything else recently.  Figured I'd pop in an take a peek around :)

I used to frequent these forums and their predecessors many years ago and remember some of the users here from years ago.

I haven't really run or played RM for very many years. I suppose it was maybe 1996 or something like that.

Still, I come here occasionally to see how RMU is coming along and I remember my old RM days with fondness.
Who knows, I might be able to get people interested in giving the new incarnation of RM a go if/when it comes out.
