I have the Creatures and Treasures for RM Classic. Sadly, my Creatures and Treasures for RM 2nd was stolen, along with all my other books, and all the characters. In the notes for a player's Vulfen character, it seems that he had 4 background picks. In the Classic C&T, Vulfen only have 2 background picks. The C&T I have been able to get through Amazon is the older, staple-bound version, and doesn't list background options. Does anyone know for sure how many background options the Vulfen got way back in RM 2nd Ed?

I'm not sure RM2 ever specified that. I don't see anything about background options for Vulfen in Creatures and Treasures. Maybe one of the companions gave that information though?

The RMFRP book Races & Cultures gives Vulfen 4 BGOs, so perhaps that was the source. I'm pretty sure Hurin is correct that RM2 didn't cover this. I leafed through the Companions but didn't find any such information.

I would go with MrApollinax' answer. I pulled my Companions, and the really handy index at the back of IV says Vulfen were in C&T, with background options coming from the optional stuff in ChL, and some more in RCI. I didn't check ChL, but RCI does not talk about Vulfen and BGOs.

For some reason I see it as 2 picks.

In RMC it is definitely 2 BGOs.

I am 99% sure that RMFRP gives them 4. I am pretty sure I did not home rule that.

So, really use 2 or 4, your decision based on what rule set you prefer. I tend to limit them as the race has other benefits. These can always be offset by racial hatred though.

Thanks, guys. It was RMFRP that gave them 4 options. RMC had not been released when the character was originally created, and that was where I found the listing. Since I am recreating the character from notes, I will be going with the 4 Options, but the PC will have to develop his claw attacks as a Martial Art if he wants to use them. Seems like a good trade off.
Again, thanks for the input.

No worries! We're glad you figured it out. And welcome to the forums!
