When one gets a +10 to +25 spcial item, does it have to be a small item. If you had a light trader and also got three  + 15  spcial items, could you give your ship a + 15 head up diplay, and a +15 EW, and still get your usual +15 blast pistol.

I would ask your GM how he handels special items in his game. In my game I genarally limit the special item depending on how they got it, TP or BO and cost. For example a +15 barrier shield is worth more IMO than a +15 ring of psi resistence. A TP example would be the medical TP give you a +15 item it should have something to do with medical items not weapons. Unless it was the combat medic TP.

I have in general found that the GM has specific ideas on how to handel special items or provides a list of things for the player to pick from.

My brother wanted a +15 to Combat Pilot, so I made it a special interface he used with a planes computer/AI.  Cool thing, I could make a certain ship not have the modern hardware to use the interface if I wanted to, or have it shot out in combat, maybe even making him buy a new one for a couple hundred thousand creds.
