What Is your Favourite Game World?

Which game world do you like the most?

Feel free to add your comments; i have enabled up to seven votes per person, so you should be able to choose all of the options if you so wish (first time I tried this).

Re: the old Middleearth setting, it's not forgotten, but best under "Other RM/HARP"; same for any homebrew settings.

For me it has to be the Shadow World setting as it's richly detailed and incredibly varied as well! :)

Personally I liked MERPS, but felt RM used way to much magic for the setting, to many classes i didn't  use. Shaded of Darkness was great, I always wished they made more on it. Shadow world was good but i never used it.

 I would add a category to include home or say something like commercial game world.

No question. Middle-Earth, hands down.  Nearly an entire world and detailed history to work with, but grand/big enough that I can fit whatever the heck I want right into it.  (I have a campaign outline that starts right about the time of the sinking of Numenor).

Middle Earth #1 hands down - material, background and familiarity.
Barsaive for Earthdown a close #2.
Although the home brew we are currently playing is getting pretty awesome with Pathfinder system.

I voted Other (Non-ICE) because Dark Sun and Gamma World are tied as my favorite setting(s). (See a theme here? :)) But, Shadow World is a very close second, and first among my non-post apocalyptic settings. (Definitely it is my favorite ICE setting - I would like Cyradon better if they actually went to another world and not just another continent on the same world. Just my own preference, I guess. Otherwise the concept is very cool.)

My own, followed by Greyhawk and then Warhammer. I do have a strong fondness for both RE Howard's stuff and Middle Earth, but not necessarily as game settings.

While I love the detail of the shadow world, I have not had a chance to play in it.

However, I really like the Shades of Darkness setting, and use it when I can.

Of course, I usually end up building my own worlds from scratch so the majority of the time I find solace in seeing what randomly pops up in them which I had not scripted for.

Favourite is definitely Middle-Earth!

We play(ed) Fourth (or later) Age versions of Middle-Earth and Shadow World.
Never cared much for ME in earlier ages, too many restrictions.

Middle-Earth is what I've been playing and GMing for well over 20 years now.
I'm also fairly active in BattleTech (and well impressed by their latest RPG edition!), but don't have an active BattleTech group nor the spare time required for a second group.
