Topic: GCP Rebranding and Print-on-Demand Programmes

I see a lot of comments about when a particular product will be back on sale or available in hard copy. As products are released or about to released, we've been posting about them in the relevant areas of the board. What all of these have in common is that they do not give an impression of the epic scope of the programmes, which encompasses products published during the Mjolnir era, products published by Old ICE where we have managed to secure agreement with authors to bring a long-lost product back, and indeed products that GCP published itself prior to license transition that need to be prepped for print-on-demand.

As I noted in the July Aurigas newsletter, there are products which will not be returning due to legal, financial or content quality reasons. Also I am excluding all scanned products from this table.

Thanks. Would it be possible to have a list of those products which won't be returning, and the reason why for each product? Some of the reasons might not be insurmountable; for example, the quality of the scanned products could be fixed if they were re-written - which would probably have to be a volunteer project, but potentially doable.

The scanned products are just being uploaded into the OneBookShelf as-is, marked as scans and with a warning as to their aesthetic quality. I'm excluding them from the table because they aren't being rebranded per se and they would make really poor quality (in aesthetic look and feel) print-on-demand books. There's maybe a dozen or so more scanned products to go up (4 Shadow World products and various old Spacemaster 2nd Edition) at the moment.

It is not appropriate at this time to indicate which products won't be returning as we still have a number of contractual negotiations ongoing and I do not wish to prejudice those discussions.

I'm missing some HARP products like:

- Monsters - A Field Guide
- Bazaar Annual (including the H&S rules!)
- The Codex

Was it a mistake leaving them out of the list or are there any troubles with these books?

There are still ongoing contractual negotiations relating to the recovery of Monsters: a Field Guide, and depending on how they resolve, there are potential knock-on impacts elsewhere in the product line, so I've pulled other products out of the queue for now.

It also has legal and financial problems associated with it. They may be resolvable in time but there's no viable instant fix, so it was removed from the queue.
