Hi all,
I'm just wondering if there's a chance of the Darkspace book ever making it into .pdf form. I'd really like to use it for my current campaign (which begins in Shadow World), but I haven't been able to find it anywhere except on Ebay (and it is quite expensive there). I'm wondering whether I should shell out the cash or wait in the hopes it makes it into .pdf format on the ICE store.
Bump if you'd like to see this!
Thanks very much,

ICE does not own the full rights to a number of old products. All products from the old ICE that we could make into PDF have already been done (except for 1 Spacemaster module).
So, no ICE will most likely not be placing a PDF of Dark Space on our store.

Ah darn, that's sad to hear :(
-
That book rocks! Dark Space was written by Monte Cook, so e-mail Malhavoc Press and ask him about it.
-
One of my favorite supplements for RM & SM. I miss it dearly ...I'd love to see Monte allow it to be republished as a PDF @ the ICE store.
-
The only way for it to get republished would be for him to sign a contract with the Guild Companion. They have the exclusive rights to make deals to republish works to which ICE does not own the full rights.
-
this was one of those ground breaking books, very different and very useful.
it would make sense to republish it if at all possible.
firstly wouldn't it be great if the original space master was reworked and releasing, so as to give it a wider audiance than it would currently enjoy, and then push to try to make it happen, which in itself would be a hard task.

No disrepect to Defendi, but I really do miss SM 2. I feel the new space master kind of threw out the baby with the bath water.

Cool I understand Rasyr.

Like I've posted elsewhere I agree with both Ictus & Dutch.ICE should revamp SM2 , much like it did with RM2/C. It'd help revive the brand IMO.

ICE actually responded to these requests before (in the Spacemaster Express thread -- the first couple of pages). Essentially it boils down to not being able to use the SM2 setting AND not having the resources (i.e. manpower, time, etc.) to do such.

Booo hisss LOL J/k understandable. Can't say I can't wish for it though =P
It just needs a new setting & slap Ictus n' Defendi into chains .Then have Ictus do the rules revision & Defendi convert the setting from SM:P to SM2/C or create a all new one .Give them just enough food n' water to keep them functioning.

I've seen this on Amazon and Barnes and Noble too. Not that cheap really either, $40+ usually.

{i'm a stupid-head. erasing my whole comment.}

For those who don't have 'dark space', try the following:
Use the "entities from deep space" section of Creatures and Monsters (RMSS) or C & T II. Think "Rolemaster meets Call of Cthulu". Lather, rinse and repeat. It's a gross over-simplifaction, but it gets the job done.
-
Dark Space is one of my all time favorite supplements, and one of the better books (IMHO) that Monte wrote, simply because of the idea's he threw together.
I found that Monte's "Chaositech" book (Malhavoc Press D&D 3.5) used a few of the same bad guys (Vathlochna sp?) that were initially found in DS.

This is currently available on ebay UK. Not sure if seller will post outside the UK though: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dark-Space-Rare-Rolemaster-by-Monte-Cook-ICE-OOP_W0QQitemZ120363189095QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Toys_RolePlaying_RL?hash=item120363189095&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1298|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318
