Master Character Table

(1/2) > >>

CuChullain:
Hi All,

All the editions of Rolemaster I've seen has a version of the Master Character Table which gives summaries of various professions, for particular levels, including estimated skill bonuses, hits, spell known etc, to allow the GM to whip up on-the-fly NPCs.

Does anyone know of a similar table for HARP?

I know there's the Friends and Rivals book, but I'm not looking for that much detail, just a list of approximate stats etc for a given level to use for faceless guards or bandits or whatever.

Many thanks in advance,
C?Chullain

Hawkwind:
The closest thing I am aware of is the tables in the back of Martial Law - they give stats at 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th & 20th level for all the warrior classes. That's what I use for quick combat stats for guards and bandits.

CuChullain:
Thanks, Hawkwind.

I haven't picked up ML for a while and didn't think to look there.

I wonder if there's something similar in CoM for spell users? I'll have to check after work.

Defendi:
I've been doing a profession every Bazaar.  It's probably more than you are looking for still, but my idea has been toward building a master character table after I've done all the professions.

Uhhh.... how many professions do you anticipate ending up with?

And... how many "new" professions can you possibly create??...before they all end up being just a more modified/specialized version of an original profession?

IMHO, HARP has plenty of professions already; with cultures, races, and the plethora of other options available during character creation and advancement, players will end up creating their characters the way they imagine them...regardless of what is penciled in the Profession block of their character sheet.

I remember reading something Tim posted where he said he thought about not even including the Ranger profession because it was just a fighter with a lot of outdoor skills. I don't remember the whole discussion verbatim, but the impression I got was that Tim really didn't want a whole lot of professions.

Well, just my opinion ;D
