encumberance

I notice that when buying things I notice that there is not a place to put things on a mount. and if you buy a mount the weight of the mount is added as if you are carrrying the mount.  I know I can remove the encumberance from the items but would love to be able to be accurate with where things are at. any recommendations or suggestions?
