Is there a full list of all published products by version?
« on: September 08, 2018, 05:37:28 PM »
Thinking about starting a campaign soon and I've been aware of RM for decades though I've been firmly in the D&D camp since 1988.  Getting tired of the version hamster wheel and need something with more depth to allow a setting to my preferences.

I'm up in the air about what version to roll with (playtest for United looks interesting but it's long timetable may not fit into my game's horizon) so I'm looking to see a list of what's been done historically by version to allow me to view the differences and lock down a framework.

Thank you,
AJC

My favourite is the RMFRP/RMSS version (because I like the skills and I hated the randomness of hit points and spell acquisition of the RMC/RM2 version) but there’s obviously the RMC/RM2 version as well.

RMFRP is a reorganising and balancing of the RMSS system (and the ICE Webring has an awesome side by side comparison of the books) but if an RMSS book hasn’t been reprinted as an RMFRP book then you can use the RMSS book without a problem.

And RPGNow seems to have lots of them but you only need the RMFRP Core rulebook to start.

...not that I’m forcing you down that route.  ;D

Heh,

No worries Crag.  I'm a book guy.

Which brings me to my next question.  RPGNow seems to have everything, but the format is PDF.  While I'm not beyond downloading to an iPad or something, I'm of the opinion that a book is better for prep and chargen and a PDF is better for table reference.

Is there a print on demand option or does the purchase license allow me to go to a publishing site and print my own copies?

This may sound silly as there are many folks that print their own stuff on a home printer, but I find that a bit meh.

I completely agree!

What country do you live in?  Sentry Box in Calgary, Alberta, Canada has most of the RMSS/RMFRP books available in print copies, might be used.  Unfortunately their on-line catalog is broken at the moment, but you can always send them an email.
