The intelligence of Slime Molds

This article and the accompanying video is worth a look.  In a lab experiment, a scientist proved that slime molds are able to solve problems in order to reach food supplies.

Well, we are (slowly) realizing brains come in more forms than we originally believed. If a slime's basic form includes a brain that encompasses pieces/parts of its entire form, they may end up being smarter than we are. Remember, we can fooled into thinking something is not very smart because it approaches things in a different (alien) way.
Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Scratch that. Power attracts the corruptible.

Rules should not replace the brain and thinking.

:)  Reading the title of the thread; Slime, Molds and intelligence; got me thinking I think I know a few "people" shaped slime or mold that have some intelligence. ;D
